Pulled Pork. Lunch. Fridays. 11:30 am. Starting 5/24

It’s BACK ( by POPULAR demand!) … Fridays only we will be serving up our Lexington, NC style BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches … out of the dining room at HM.  Menu HERE. We’ll start this Friday – Barry will be chopping the meat, Alon will be chow-chowing the sandwich, and Rachel will be ringing the High Life bell.  Should be a lovely time had by all…

In fact, here are some of the emails we have received from last year’s Backdoor BBQ enthusiasts…

I was riding my bike to work this morning, and when I passed the restaurant I thought I smelled pulled pork. Any chance you might be bringing back the pulled pork sandwiches at lunch time?

Are you going to have your pulled pork bbq sandwiches again this year? Please say yes, please.
Will you be serving them by the 18th? I’m going to have a lunch meeting and would love to pick up from Hungry Mother!

The rest are from people who I did not get permission to use their names… but you can’t make this stuff up :)

Hi there,

I had the impression that you were offering sandwiches at lunchtime last year – do you still do lunch hours?

Hoping to have lunch at Hungry Mother…=

Hi – I was wondering if you’re going to be doing the Thurs/Fri afternoon bbq lunches again this summer, and if so when they start.

Thanks!

Can you tell me if you are going to run the Friday lunch special this year. If so when is it going to start.

Thanks =

Follow Up From JBA Dinner / Future Chefs Nice Response

Here’s a link to Toni Elka’s (Executive Director and Founder of Future Chefs) blog post following the special dinner we hosted at Hungry Mother on Monday, April 15.

Future Chefs Blog

You may recall – the dinner featured chefs Jamie Bissonette and Joanne Chang.  Unfortunately, it took place on a day that will be emblazoned in our minds forever.  Nonetheless, we made the decision to continue on as planned.  Jamie and Joanne made it over from Boston with their delicious food and their sunshine spirits.  We all came together, rallied and made a wonderful night for the guests and a successful fund raiser for Future Chefs. John said to our staff in briefing that evening, it was important for us to carry on, hoping that our efforts that night would help Future Chefs in their mission to teach, enlighten, and give support to the kids that may need that extra guidance in life.

We’re open tonight… 5pm

hope to see you then.

It’s always Restaurant Week at Hungry Mother

OKAY Foodie Math Whiz – check this out:

For a couple dollars extra per person you can eat just as well (ahem- better?!) than a Restaurant Week menu…

Dinner for 4 at Hungry Mother ( $39.75 / person – Sample Dinner Bill Listed Below) (Restaurant Week – $38.13 / person)

No disrespect to our friends in the industry who participate in Restaurant Week – it is great for the businesses and great for diners when they go to a place that keeps its integrity during the week … We just want to point out that you can get a great value here, too, even though we are not participating in “restaurant week”

so come see us.  TONIGHT.
