NYC! We’re cooking at the James Beard House on Monday!

We’re headed to NYC!

Chef Barry Maiden and our trusty team have been invited to take the helm at the James Beard House for an event titled “South by Northeast: A Civil Creation”

On September 15, 2014 Barry and many of the Hungry Mother crew will be in New York City sharing their talent with the members and guests of the James Beard Foundation.  From the JBF Website:

“The James Beard Foundation’s mission is to celebrate, nurture, and honor America’s diverse culinary heritage through programs that educate and inspire.”

We are honored to have been invited to be a part of this mission and join the esteemed chefs that have cooked there before us.  There are still a few seats available, we hope that you can share the experience with us.  Tickets and more information can be found on the James Beard Foundation website:

It’s always Restaurant Week at Hungry Mother

OKAY Foodie Math Whiz – check this out:

For a couple dollars extra per person you can eat just as well (ahem- better?!) than a Restaurant Week menu…

Dinner for 4 at Hungry Mother ( $39.75 / person – Sample Dinner Bill Listed Below) (Restaurant Week – $38.13 / person)

No disrespect to our friends in the industry who participate in Restaurant Week – it is great for the businesses and great for diners when they go to a place that keeps its integrity during the week … We just want to point out that you can get a great value here, too, even though we are not participating in “restaurant week”

so come see us.  TONIGHT.

love

Barry’s cooking at the ICA!

Barry will be at the Institute of Contemporary Art on Boston’s waterfront tomorrow night.  He has been invited to give a cooking demo as part of their summer Talking Taste series.  His demo will be featuring day-boat scallops from our friends at  Snappy Lobster Delivery.  As of now the event is sold out, but weather permitting they will sell more tickets tomorrow – visit the ICA website at 2:30pm Friday to purchase tickets (this is the time when the extra tickets will go on sale, and they sell out quickly.)  Hope to see you there!
