NYC! We’re cooking at the James Beard House on Monday!

We’re headed to NYC!

Chef Barry Maiden and our trusty team have been invited to take the helm at the James Beard House for an event titled “South by Northeast: A Civil Creation”

On September 15, 2014 Barry and many of the Hungry Mother crew will be in New York City sharing their talent with the members and guests of the James Beard Foundation.  From the JBF Website:

“The James Beard Foundation’s mission is to celebrate, nurture, and honor America’s diverse culinary heritage through programs that educate and inspire.”

We are honored to have been invited to be a part of this mission and join the esteemed chefs that have cooked there before us.  There are still a few seats available, we hope that you can share the experience with us.  Tickets and more information can be found on the James Beard Foundation website:

Follow Up From JBA Dinner / Future Chefs Nice Response

Here’s a link to Toni Elka’s (Executive Director and Founder of Future Chefs) blog post following the special dinner we hosted at Hungry Mother on Monday, April 15.

Future Chefs Blog

You may recall – the dinner featured chefs Jamie Bissonette and Joanne Chang.  Unfortunately, it took place on a day that will be emblazoned in our minds forever.  Nonetheless, we made the decision to continue on as planned.  Jamie and Joanne made it over from Boston with their delicious food and their sunshine spirits.  We all came together, rallied and made a wonderful night for the guests and a successful fund raiser for Future Chefs. John said to our staff in briefing that evening, it was important for us to carry on, hoping that our efforts that night would help Future Chefs in their mission to teach, enlighten, and give support to the kids that may need that extra guidance in life.

Barry’s cooking with Joanne Chang & Jamie Bissonnette!

Please join Hungry Mother as Barry welcomes chefs Joanne Chang and Jamie Bissonnette into our kitchen to cook together and celebrate their nominations for the James Beard Award: Best Chef Northeast.  Proceeds to benefit Future Chefs.  We will not be taking reservations through the restaurant – for more details and to purchase tickets please visit:  ClassOf2013BCNE.eventbrite.com
