Line Cooks

James Beard Finalist chef Barry Maiden and Hungry Mother (Best Restaurant - General Excellence 2013 by Boston Magazine ) are looking for qualified candidates for Line Cook positions.

Fine dining experience is preferred but we will consider any motivated candidates. We are a young, dynamic restaurant and we run a very tight, busy, well-organized service. Learn line cooking, whole animal butchery, sausage making, meat curing, smoking and more. Minimum one year commitment. Serious and qualified inquiries only. Line cooks will work four 10 hour shifts each week cooking New American food with a Southern slant. We are committed to sustainability in our food choices, consistency and care.

Pastry Assistant
Hungry Mother restaurant is seeking a full time pastry assistant. Qualified candidate would be able to do pastry production, working with our Pastry Chef, Rachel Sundet, on daily menu execution, as well as while she is away from the restaurant. You must be self motivated, independent, able to troubleshoot and take responsibility for your work. We ask for 2 years pastry experience, and prefer a candidate with culinary school training - basic knowledge of cake making, custards, ice creams, breads, pies, pastry making, are all expected. Added bonus - potential crossover work with the new restaurant that we are opening in fall.
